«I am writing to express my interest in the Advanced Systems Dependability program to which I am applying with the purpose of expanding my technical knowledge and creating more opportunities for myself in the future.
Throughout my undergraduate study, I have gained distinctive academic results, hands-on experience as a software engineer and built leadership skills through extra-curricular activities. Courses such as computer networks, programming principles, algorithms and data structures laid a solid foundation in the theoretical aspects of computer science. I have successfully completed numerous individual and group projects which can be viewed via a link to my Github profile in my CV. Because of my keen interest in programming, I did not limit myself with only subjects taught in lectures/seminars but went on further to study programming in online platforms like Udemy, SoloLearn and various algorithmic problem-solving sites. The courses there trained me to proficiently use programming languages, algorithms, query optimization, design patterns and software architecture that stemmed in me a firm foundation of Computer Science.
My interest in systems dependability, reliability and architecture started with learning software architecture for dependable systems. I underwent an internship in two companies and in one of them worked for a year. Working in real projects, I realized the importance of software architecture, clean code, using appropriate patterns and paradigms. During my internships I worked in a web development team where I got valuable experience in working with API, requirements specifications, writing technical documentation, database design and query optimization. The work experience provided me more discipline, now I am more focused on my goals than ever before. It has also provided me the expertise to approach problems systematically. I am curious to learn more advanced techniques and concepts employed in the highly dependable software industry. In the program courses such as Critical Systems Engineering, Software Architecture, Software Engineering Practice and Principles are particularly interesting for me.
Studying in the Advanced Systems Dependability program is an opportunity I would love to dedicate myself wholeheartedly, and I believe that this program will be a life-changing experience for me as well as a huge stepping stone towards success in my career. The knowledge along with the experience I obtain studying in this program, I will apply in creating and designing large-scale and highly dependable systems in my home country. Currently, the vast number of comprehensive projects around E-Government are being implemented by the Ministry of Information Technology and I am planning to join in these projects which will ease digital interaction between government and citizens, businesses and other government agencies.
