Savol:

«One of the most important parts of your application is the motivation letter. Its goal is to introduce your background and support your application. In short, its goal is to answer the question:

“Why are you a suitable candidate?”

Write in a clear and logical manner: remember, the way you write and present yourself says a lot about you.

Some points that may help you answer this question:

  • Why have I chosen to apply to this programme?
  • What do I expect to gain from my studies?
  • Why does my background make me a suitable candidate?
  • How will the programme help me to achieve my goals?
  • How does your proposed study relate to a particular development challenge or need at the global, national, and/or local level?
  • How will you apply your new skills and qualifications when you return home?
  • What challenges would you expect to encounter while studying in a foreign country, and how could you prepare for these challenges?»

Grant yutib olgan o’zbekistonlik talaba – Rustam Temirov tomonidan yozilgan va topshirilgan insho:

«Dear Sir/Madam

Opportunity to study Bachelor in Hungary in the field of Computer Science is certainly rewarding. In this letter, I would like to highlight my ambitions and major purposes why I’m applying for Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship program.

In June 2018, I have finished my high school diploma at the Academic lyceum under Institute of Economics and Service where I have gained most significant knowledge in mathematics and sciences. After graduating from my high school, I decided to advance my knowledge and  therefore, I applied to Foundation Year Program at the SBTUIT (Samarkand Branch of Tashkent University of Information Technology) and was awarded merit based scholarship to study the program.

I was first introduced to programming at middle school where I completed multiple projects to develop simple console applications on Turbo Pascal language. Despite its complexity, I gained a basic knowledge of coding. My middle school experience was the first push for me into the world of IT. When I was 15, I used my knowledge in computer hardware to successfully assemble my first PC purchasing parts of it. My interest in computers and programming constantly grew, inspired me to learn Computer Science (CS) on my own. During my high school years, I started learning through online platforms like Coursera and EDX and I successfully completed courses like Microsoft “Data Structure and Algorithms” and MITX “Introduction to Computer Science and Programming using Python”.

Having gained sufficient experience in CS, two friends and I decided to put our knowledge to practice. So far, our team has completed IT projects for private and governmental organizations. One of them was web-application for Samarkand International University of Tourism «Silk Road». The program was created for university administration to track and report university courses for students. The application was successfully launched and has allowed for students to manage their studies in university more easily.

In my country of Uzbekistan, 650 thousand people have some form of disability and the lack of prosthetics and inconvenient barrier-free urban environment is the main reasons which limit disabled people to fully enjoy life. Implementing new technologies to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities is the best way to resolve the problem. As a winner of Stipendium Hungaricum, I could pursue the field of Computer Science from highly recognized University in Hungary. That will help me realize my project on creating smart artificial prosthesis with the use of gained knowledge and experience. I believe that people with disabilities can contribute even more if put into equal conditions, as they are usually more motivated than others to overcome their obstacles and show their value to the rest of the people.

I perceive the opportunity of studying in Hungary as an extraordinary chance to get a unique set of experiences and to research in a manner I find fascinating. Studying with people from different cultures and social backgrounds, but with the common interests and goals would be an unopened world for me. This can shape my personality and help all prospective undergraduate students to sway with the information with each other and broaden the knowledge of programming and the world. The knowledge that I will bring to my country would not only build me as an IT-specialist but would make me be a problem solver. I will be able to apply and utilize my gained experience in those fields which have a lack of consideration.»
